Thought it may have been a while since the last time you heard about The Stanley Parable, it’s likely that you’ve at least heard of it before, if not played it yourself. Originally released as a Source Engine mod on July 27, 2011, the game was well received by the gaming community overall as being an extremely interesting look into narrative and storytelling.
For those of you who have not yet played The Stanley Parable, it’s difficult to describe exactly what makes it such a wonderful experience and I would urge you to try the game out for yourself. This is one of those games where you really have to experience it for yourself to appreciate it fully, although, if you wish, there are undoubtedly an outrageous number of videos on YouTube with various playthroughs.
It’s been a quite a while now, and apart from the occasional teaser trailer, email response video, or ‘making of’ trailer we’ve heard little of the new, updated version of the game that we’ve all been waiting for.
Today is another one of those special days where we’re able to gleam a bit more new info about the game, thanks to a new sneak peek trailer (above). With the Steam version of the game quickly approaching (currently slated for an October 2013 release), it’s likely that as we get closer to launch we’ll be getting more of these lovely narrated videos, which may (or may not) tell us more about the game.
For anyone wishing to find out more about the game, I’d recommend checking out the games description on their Steam Greenlight page here.
And please, if you haven’t played this game yet, what are you sitting there for now!?
